Chris broke his laptop. He hit with a driver and it landed in the pool. He was outside watching the game after those 2 home runs because the grandkids are here tonight and he didn't want to scream and yell and wake them up. Right now, he is outside yelling at trees that some guy named Roberts has to be the most stupid person in the world. Something about watching the moron in the other dugout do stupid things and Roberts is monkey see monkey do. Wow he is pissed. He just bent a driver around a tree.
Ok, he is back in the house and the first thing he says it is freaking cold outside but he got a sweat going. I asked him if he is going to get his computer out of the pool and he said, screw that, I will get it out with the net tomorrow. He said he also needs some new clubs, he broke 4 including a really expensive wood he bought 2 years ago. He said that just exploded when he tried to cut down a tree with it. I asked him if he is going to be ok and he said hell no. He said the Dodgers suck, the Rams are going to lose on Sunday because Goff's head is up his own ass, the Kings cannot score again and UDub has a gutless coward for a quarterback. He said all he has is the Lakers and Man City. Some guy named Segar is pretty much dead to him and he hopes he is wearing a different jersey so he can choke on his $7 million dollars next year for some other team. Now, he is talking to himself. He is the most funny when he does this. He is saying I cannot blame Clayton, dumbass Roberts sees Martinez do it and figures he can one up him. Same with some guy named Kelly, he got one good inning and had to try his luck on 2. Something about this Roberts guy eating paint chips and probably got dropped on his head way too many times because no one is this stupid without some bad head injury. He must be done, he asked if I wanted a ice cream.

Okay. Have managed to resist my baser instincts and burn Roberts in effigy on my front lawn. I am thoroughly flabbergasted at what happened tonight. Roberts just proved what I have been saying for years. He is the worst bullpen manager in the game. I will touch on his lineup construction later. Simply put, he does not learn. He brings in Kershaw and Kershaw is all amped up and ready to go and he dominates one hitter. Any other manager with half a brain would know that he is not going to keep that same fire in the next inning, so you bring in a different pitcher. Maeda dominated and because he is more attuned to the bullpen and pacing, he can go multiple innings because he is not a flamethrower who shoots his wad over three outs. Nope, Roberts pulls him and goes to Kelly. I am okay with this because you go one with Kelly, one with May and then one with Jansen. Not our boy Roberts. Even after watching Martinez butcher games one and three with his pen and falling in love with arms who are out of their element, Roberts plays monkey see, monkey do and does the same exact thing.
Hasn't he figured out that Kelly is not a multiple inning pitcher yet? It is like Roberts in incapable of learning from past mistakes and the only way he ever wins a World Series ring is if he is a bench coach for a better manager. I know he has one, but it seems like his stupidity is more glaring by the year.
Next, get rid of Seager. I know he is likely a perennial all star but it seems like he vanishes at the wrong time and I wonder just how hard he works on his game. I get he is uber talented, but he still has the same massive hole in his swing he has had since his rookie year. At this point, I am wanting to see Lux play short and move Seager to any team who will give us three top 10 prospects. Even with his arb number being between $7 and $8 million, it seems like a doable move. Let Muncy handle second, he is not awful there and move Turner and his balky knees to first. Of course, we would have to find a third baseman and I think we should pay the freight on Rendon. He is the righty bat we don't have and need and God knows we need another decent righty bat. I know Pederson, Stripling and likely Baez have played their last games as Dodgers. Their potential arb numbers are just going to be too high for what they can give us. I just hope that Pollock can give us more in '20 than he did in '19 or that contract will be abysmal. Lastly, if I have not made this clear, time to fire Roberts. I don't like Joe Maddon, I think it is all smoke and mirrors with him. I know I have been a huge fan of Chase Utley getting the job, but like Ibanez, I don't think the time is right for him to get back into the daily grind. At this point, the only name I can think of is Brad Ausmus. Sure, he has failed twice. Once in Detroit where he had his shot and bliew it, (although, he had zero pen) and then was stuck with a bad AAA team and with the Angels, where I think he had to know he was a placeholder (like Rick Renteria) for when Joe Maddon became a free agent. I will give Ausmus this, he put together a decent pen in Anaheim with a lot less talent than Roberts had available and if LaStella and Trout hadn't got hurt, he could've finished over .500. Add in a weak farm system and minimal depth and you get a recipe for a second division finish.
This is all academic anyway. No way Friedman fires Roberts. The guy is protected on high and even Friedman can't touch him. As for Seager, I think he could be moved. The problem is, the Indians will be trading Lindor and the one team who will deal a huge prospect haul for a shortstop is the Yankees and Lindor fits there better than Seager. That leaves, IMO, only the White Sox, Philadelphia and (don't laugh) Atlanta as the teams who have the right combination of prospect capital and a need to upgrade at short. Sure, Swanson is decent, but I think the Braves would jump at Seager. The Phillies still have some top flight prospects and Segura can shift to second (Hernandez is going to be more expensive than Seager in '20, so bye). As for the White Sox, Anderson is not the answer. He flamed out pretty much and even though Seager is coming off of a meh year, for him, he would be a good fit on a young team like the White Sox.

I expect the Dodgers to do absolutely nothing to make the the team better in terms of impact moves.
The Dodgers are a wash, rinse and repeat team. They don't make big changes. They rake in money, live off of Division titles and are ok with just always being in the conversation. It will most likely be the flag that they carry all Winter long to justify why they don't make bigger moves.
