"Getting Some Mookie" - The 2020 Los Angeles Dodgers Season Thread

I am so glad the Dodgers moved on from Machado. Do not like him at all.

If I were to guess, and that is all I can do, ESPN and other channels carrying these games wanted to avoid direct conflict with college and pro football as much as possible. In particular, without fans, the money from the networks means more than fans or keeping the players sharp.

    Dodgers vs Padres 8/4/20

Padres during pitching change. Left side of field next to each other, same for right side. All outfielders right next to each other in center. Good social distancing.

As long as posters use this as a political forum, for whatever reason, there will be those who want to respond with different viewpoints. Then the forum becomes something other than a sports forum. The only reason the political comments have not been answered is the forbearance of those who do...

This is a Dodger forum, not supposed to be political. There are other forums for that.

In an earlier post I asked what MLB.COM would do for subscribers with a shortened season. I received the following from them: We have updated the price of your 2020 MLB.TV Yearly subscription to reflect the 2020 60-Game MLB Schedule. Your updated 2020 MLB.TV Yearly subscription price will be...

As much as I would like to see the Dodgers play I don't think they should try this year. And I am wondering what refund we will get from MLB.COM for a shortened or cancelled season.

Simple check shows that a player making 10,000,000 a year would make 61,000+ per game. They can have me play for one hell of a lot less.

My son married a Canadian and lived in Calgary for several years. He has been back for over ten years (divorced) but still occasionally uses eh? in chats. Have to admit have not heard him say it in years.

The fact that the number who have died is currently matching YOUR stated average death toll WITH social distancing backs up the actions taken to shut down the economy. And your figures are highly inflated for past non-Spanish flues if meant as an average. The current wave of Covid-19 is not...

How Did You Get Into the Dodgers?

Partially to keep this thread active I want to share my Dodgers-Marlins story. We were sitting behind 1st base dugout, row 18. There were many Dodger fans around us. I took my brother and some of his family and some of mine. Dodgers were down by one in the top of the 9th and Puig hit a low...

How Did You Get Into the Dodgers?

My 3rd grade teacher brought a very small TV in the classroom, Peoria, IL, so we could watch the 56 World Series. Most of the class was rooting for the Yankees so I, always liking the underdog, rooted for the Dodgers. Not even sure I knew much about baseball, but there you are. Never saw a...
