The great thing about finally winning the World Series is that you get to bask in the glory of being on top for at least six months. You never want it to end.

Unfortunately, that day has arrived. On the plus side, let's begin a new journey towards repeating.

So, let's do it.

GO DODGERS!!

Kershaw wasn't even close to as good as mediocre this spring. More terrible this spring than mediocre.
Any concern that this is becoming a pattern more than an anomaly? I would hate to think that he all of the sudden turns into a pumpkin this year because that would put a gaping hole in the rotation and be awkward with the impact he has on the organization.

This is one of those problems that isn't easily fixable because of the way Kershaw presents himself as a good guy, leader and overall example of class. You can't just demote a guy like that or hide him like you can if it were any other pitcher on the staff but Bauer.

If it persisted for more than a few starts, I think he’d (eventually) understand... and we’d hear of some sort of nagging back injury that would lead to IL stint... Kershaw is smart enough to realize that his legacy can’t handle a complete tank job all season... Fortunately, Dodgers have plenty of depth...

I think Kershaw will be all right...maybe not $31M all right, but think back to 2011 when he won the CYA while making near league minimum and 2014 when he made a "mere" $6M and won the CYA and MVP. If he IS going to show big time regression, it might be better for it to happen this year (final year of his contract).

Apparently Manfred is going all in on “woke” religion too... and taking the All-Star Game out of Atlanta over politics... ugh. This can’t end well.

Remember when baseball transcended politics of the moment?

This has nothing to do with "woke religion." It has to do with telling one group of elected public servants that they cannot get away with changing voting rules to make it more difficult for their opposition's supporters to vote. Many of the opposition's supporters in Georgia are poor or black or brown. This kind of blatant voter suppression should be unacceptable in a democracy, no matter which tribe you're in. Google "Jim Crow Laws" for a more expansive view.

I think MLB did the right thing. I'm not a huge fan of the woke/cancel culture but in this case, only public pressure (including from corporations and professional sports) can help protect voting rights, which are sacred in a democracy.

And that's all I'm going to say on the subject.

GO DODGERS!
