Hi all!

For the first time in ages, I went shopping for SMALLER clothes! Losing 86 pounds in almost 9 months is great, especially when you feel better in all aspects of life. I have gone from 52 to 48 in jeans and 4x to 3x in shirts.

Mary, I have not forgotten your question about my way of eating. I'll get back to you soon on that.

EDIT: BAM!

Cool. My brother whined to me on the phone, last night, that his doctor gave him some really bad news. His kidneys are failing, his liver is in bad shape, he is 91 lbs overweight and he needs one of those sleep things at night so he keeps on breathing. His doctor told him no alcohol, no sugar, no bread or pasta and to stop smoking and get some exercise. He blames it all on his job, he is a pastry chef at a New York hotel and it is not his fault that he surrounded by good food all day long. They said he has to see a nurtition person and the doctor said a Keto diet is probably the only way he lives much longer. I just do not think he can do it. The last time we were in the same room, I watched him eat a slice of apple pie with ice cream, a creampuff and then he had a huge sandwich in like 30 minutes. His idea of exercise is getting up from his cigarette and Scotch to go to the fridge to get something to eat. The really bad part is that his partner or whatever they call it, is just as bad. All he does is eat pizza and drink beer, but because he is younger and works at JFK, he is not as chubby. Even their dogs are fat. Really sad.

Kind of bored right now. It is pouring down rain and I just heard some thunder. We had the grandkids last night and they wore us out. Too much energy, but both are now playing with a train set Chris set up this morning and they are mad at me because their snack today is carrots and apples. The daycare they are usually at gives them cheese and crackers. They are really going to hate lunch, Chris is making them tuna sandwiches and celery sticks. No cookies, candy or cakes today. They should be happy, Chris has tons of toys for them to play with and when Katja gets home, it will be video games and cartoons. Chris even made Bayley read a Dr. Seuss book and she was not happy. Ok, my turn to play with them. Chris has to run out to his Japanese cartoon store, he got a package there that he ordered.

Back from fucking Connecticut. Brother had a bad Friday. After I talked to him on the phone, he started feeling chest pains and he had to go to the ER. We get a call Saturday morning like at 3 that he was in bad shape and we should get down there. We get there like around 11 and he is already booted from the hospital and they said he had an anxiety attack and that he needs to give up the drugs, booze, cigarettes and fatty foods. No kidding. Chris just said we should get out of this nuthouse. But, my sisters and brother were on the way and it had been a long time since we were all in the same room, so I talked Chris into staying. That was stupid. There is a reason we do not have family reunions, we honestly hate each other. Chris was not happy either because Grace's husband tried to talk to him and Chris told him to go away and that started a couple hours of him trying to get Chris to like him or something. Finally, Chris had enough and told him that he does not like Grace and because he is married to her he does not like him. So, Chris said to him that if he gave him a 20 would he go away until forever. Grace likes to try to talk down to me and likes to say that only reason Chris married me was because I was a kid or something like that. I think that is why Chris hates her. she talks stupid shit and it is all Chris can do to not have a long talk with her and straighten her out on some things.

Me and Carmen got into a shouting match because I do not call her. She is not wrong, but everytime I talk to her she tries to get me to let her spend 6 months with us or something and I would have to kill her after a week. Then my brothers started in about mom liking me best. Really both are like 13 years older than me and that is still a problem. My mom has been dead for years and they are still butthurt, a bad choice of words I guess, because I got the biggest amount in the will. Then I had enough and told them maybe mom was not happy about the gay thing. Mom was kind of old school and she seemed to know way before either one told her. Two days of this and I told Chris lets rent a car and drive home because I think I might blow up a plane. Even leaving did not stop the bs. Carmen had to send me an email asking for me for our new address, I gave her the condo address and hope she can take a hint. I already know that Katja and Paula hate her and we have a big backyard, if she visits I know Chris would think of places to bury the body.

Right now, Chris is making a sandwich for both of us and playing with the dogs. I just want to eat, have an ice tea and sleep for about 20 hours. But, first, I am going to drag my tired ass into the bathtub and see if I can forget about my family. Laters.

Hi, watching an old movie with Chris. Forbidden Planet. I kind of like it, but Chris loves it. Today was really kind of nice, we were thinking of getting in a round of golf but it seemed like eveyone else had the same idea and we could not get a tee time. Instead, we just hung out at the pool and goofed off all day. Katja got all mad at us when she got home. She had a fun day, It was so hot today that she said she sweated through her skirt and had to change twice. She said every office building she went into it seemed had problems with their air conditioning. I guess when you do not use so often, it might break. So, she was miserable when she got home and seeing us lounging by the pool, she said it was not fair. Even Jos had a better day, her bank is nice and cool. Katja said tomorrow is a personal day after her morning appointments in the city.

Ok, movie is over and I am going to get some sleep. Allie had the barks this morning and started barking at squirrels or something around 5 and did not stop until 7. I think that is what started Katja's bad day, Allie was so loud that she even woke them up downstairs. Then Allie slept for like 6 hours. I know I felt like making a ton of noise to wake her up. Ok, time to go to sleep, it is past 1 and I would like to get something like 8 hours of sleep. I am not Chris, I need more than 5 hours a night.

Hi, we just got home from a night out. Dinner was great, we found a new Italian place, for us, called Lucciano Torte. I love great pasta and this stuff was great. I had the ziti with veal and Chris has the lamb shanks and fettuccini. The girls, Tatianna and Kajta found us as we were ordering dessert so we shared a tiramisu and then went to see a movie. It was one of those Japanese cartoon movies that I did not get. It is a bunch of girls who play in a high school band and I guess I can say I did not fall asleep but I did not get why those three were all teary-eyed at the end. The high school did not win the contest, so what? We had to stay for the end of the credits and I guess when the lead girl said she was the new captain of the band or whatever, those 3 started high-fiving each other and saying third season. Of course, all 3 are still hungry so we went and found diner where we got french fries, no poutine. I am gravied out. The girls also had to have burgers and milk shakes. Someone is going to get an upset tummy tonight.

Right now, I am watching Wings and Chris is playing some game on his phone. It is some assassin game where you kill the secret agent. I tried it and got killed in like 2 seconds and said no more for me. As soon as Wings is over, I am going to get some sleep. Tomorrow is going to be a busy day, we get the grandkids after swim class and Chris promised them an Anime Store shopping spree. More Pokemon toys. Ok, laters, I am barely staying awake now.

I bought a plane ticket yesterday for my late September trip back to California. It will be my first trip back to the motherland since 2014 and I will be attending the final home series of the season vs the Rockies as well. While I will have fun, I am also going to see some of my older family members whom I am unsure of being here much longer. I also plan to visit my dad's gravesite in Sacramento as his ashes are laid alongside my grandparents. $273 for a plane ticket isn't bad, even for basic economy.

Hi! We are in Ottawa and just saw our Larks beat up the Red Blacks. Lots of our fans there so it was pretty cool. We missed the first two road games because Chris did not want to go to Edmonton or Hamilton and we gave the girls our tickets for our home opener which we won. I am loving Canadian football, it is so much fun with all the scoring and passing. Next week's game is at home, so that will be fun and then we are going to Japan for a month. Everyone is coming with us, dogs and cats get Mikki and Jill to watch them. We had to get all kinds of permits so they could go to Vermont. I know Allie will have fun, like 10 acres to run around at.

We are going to some kind of comic book festival in Tokyo and because it is close to the Boy's birthday, Chris bought him and Domi tickets and Katja, Jos, Tatianna, Andrew and Paula and Thierry and the kids are all going too. They are only going for 10 days and then we are going to Sapporo for 3 weeks for ourselves. Chris and Tatianna are doing cosplay as some characters called Nowfumi and Raftalia from some show called Shield Hero. Domi. Jos and Andrew are doing something from a show called Love is War and Katja and the Boy is going as some people from a book called Tomo is a Girl. I saw the outfit Katja is wearing and it is just a bathing suit, shorts on the bottom and a striped top. I hope it is warm or she will freeze. I can finally let out Katja's secret, she got a boob job two weeks ago and this the first time she wore something that shows a lot of skin and she got the big ones. She went from 34A to 36D and it worked for her. Jos and Chris got them for her for her birthday and now Paula is all ticked because she is bigger than Paula. It was funny because Paula is the same size but because Katja is so much thinnner, kids will do that to you, it looks bigger on her. It was funny because Tatianna looked down at her chest when Katja showed them off and asked her chest, "Really disappointing, boys" I figure she is going to beg her best buddy for boobs for Xmas.

Chris is tapping his foot waiting for me to get done. He wants dinner and it is like almost midnight and I guess Ottawa closes at midnight or something. See you later. I am hungry, too.

Watching the news and listening to more updates on the horrendous arson attack on Kyoto Animation Studios. So far, eleven dead and 35 injured at one of the greatest (if not the greatest) animation studio in Japan. We were actually planning a two day trip to Kyoto for a tour of these very same studios because they are one of the most respected and worker-friendly studios in Japan. Their animators, actors, etc are actually paid a living wage and it shows in their work. Their list of first rate artistic anime is beyond compare. We just took in their latest movie, Sound! Euphonium and it was a feast for the eyes and a first rate story. The best thing about KyoAni, as they are known in the world of anime, is that every one of their productions is either PG or PG-13. No nudity, no fan service, no swearing, just excellent stories and breathtaking artwork. Sure, some of the topics of their shows are little beyond most children (war in Violet Evergarden, racism in Beyond the Boundary or bullying in Silent Voice) but I would feel comfortable for my grandkids to watch any KyoAni show or movie. There are few studios which can offer anything similar.
