Up later than usual, tonight. Found a funny little manga titled My Girlfriend with the Blue Striped Panties and got hooked big time. The aforementioned panties only appear in the first two pages. A girl transfers into a new high school and through a comedy of errors, she is embarrassed in front of a boy by the wind blowing up her skirt and vows to hate the boy because he saw her drawers. The funny part is that the boy is smitten not by the girl's drawers but by her waiflike appearance. See, she is less than five feet tall and small boned, but adorable. Come to find out that the girl is transferring to her new school because her loser father owes millions of yen to the boy's grandfather and to pay off the debt, she has promised to work as a live-in landlady at the apartment complex owed by the grandfather. While that sounds a bit unbelievable, it comes to be that the girl is the godchild of the grandfather and he would like her to marry his grandson. But, the father does owe the grandfather the money and the girl is unaware of the godchild aspect until chapter forty. The forty chapters I binged through are a combination of comedic misfortune and some tear-jerking moments like when the boy tries to tell her he loves her and she refuses to meet him halfway because of the grandfather thing and tells him she hates him. By chapter 36, she admits to her best friend that she loves the guy but her hatred for his grandfather doesn't allow her to tell him that. I am about ten chapters behind the raws, so I should be able to catch up in short order tomorrow.

I also have an update on my soaper, Kanojo No Domestic. Looks like they are going for the full on soap opera treatment. Hina is still in a coma, Natsuo is not eating and Rui is worried sick about both. Natsuo's gay Yakuza bartender lets slip that Hina confided in him about the tabloid author and refused his assistance in the issue. He is a fixer in his spare time and would've taken care of the author in his way and he feels responsible because she asked for his advice but told him to let her handle it. In the meantime, while Natsuo is taking a break, a nurse hands Rui Hina's belongings and she finds a necklace with two rings with the initials H and N on each ring and a heart connecting them. Rui is a smart girl and figures out that Hina still loved Natsuo and thereby tells Natsuo the wedding is off, while crying her eyes out. I am waiting for the new raws to come out because this chapter never appeared in the earlier raws and the last raws I read were a wedding scene and then Hina playing with her niece on her lap while Rui and Natsuo look on. Either the author is changing tack or she is appealing to the readership who wanted Natsuo and Hina to marry. Figure that Rui and Natsuo getting married is still the eventual ending but it would not be the first time a mangaka has changed an ending because of an angry readership. We Never Learn proved that. The student was supposed to marry his teacher in the original raws but the age difference didn't play well.

Hi! It is late and I got some children who are pissed off. This stupid Japanese comic book they are all reading got all of them pissed off. I guess that author is gutless and wants to make everyone happy and I guess made no one happy. Chris called the author the C word and for Chris to use the C word he must be pissed. He gets mad at the girls when they use it as a joke.

It was a nice day today and I actually wore a skirt today because it was almost warm. Still got 2 girls stuck at home but one gets to go back to work on Monday, so we will be down to one here. It would be nice if she would go to work because her running around here in barely there jams is getting old. I get that she is all cute, I hate her curly fucking hair, and that but I do not want to see her butt every day and I think Chris is bored by that too. I know that we are not supposed to run around but tomorrow, I am dragging Chris out and we are going somewhere in the city and just be away.

OK, vented and now I feel better. I am going to find Chris and see if he is ready for some sleep or scrabble. Maybe I can talk him into making me a hot chocolate and cookies. Laters.

Today has been hot. It got up to 26 degrees of C and Chris told me that is almost 80. To celebrate, I got pushed into the pool. Lucky it is heated and has been running for like 4 days, so it is up to 69 and I did not die. I just got soaked, but I pulled in Tatianna in her jams, so I got even with her. Spring is finally here. Chris is wearing Hawaiian shirts, I am wearing skirts and tank tops and Tatianna is soaking wet.

Poor Violet jumped into the pool and Chris has to rescue her. Her little legs do not work in the pool and she is a rock. She just sinks and would have drowned if it was up to me. She weighs like 70 pounds and add in water and she is probably a 100 pounds. Show off Allie just swam laps and barked a whole lot. We are going to barbecue hot dogs and corn in an hour and then see if we can sit outside for a few hours before the bugs show up.

I am hoping that Mikki and Jill can come up soon. I miss both of them and need some girl my age time. Chris is all happy. Some shipments are coming out of Japan and even though it is on a ship, it works for him. There are some other shipments by airplane but they do not start until June 1. I guess it is as good a time as any to try out my new stringy bathing suit. Katja just jumped in hers and she almost lost the top. The girls are making a lot of noise and want to play pool volleyball, so I better get out there or they will drag me out.

Thunder woke us up. It is like 2am and it is actually warm. Almost twenty or around sixty if we were living in the US. I know that doesn't sound warm but this is the Great White North where sixty degrees is warm. Anyway, after tomorrow, we are looking at a hot stretch until Friday. Temps will be the low nineties so Herself is planning on sunning herself on a rock for three days and roasting nicely.

Katja goes back to work tomorrow, so she is stoked. They were paying her but like at 2/3's her usual pay and she made sure to gripe about that even while lounging around here. She is pretty much around town tomorrow and she is pissed about the mask, but work is work. Tatianna is now worried because the university may not be able to keep her on because money looks tighter than usual. Makes sense, no kids going to class and no one paying tuition and fees, so no money for mid-level paper-pushers. She may have to take up Jos on her offer to work at the bank. I guess they need tellers who are not afraid of a cough.

Got the first of many shipments that were held up by Covid-19 Fear yesterday. It was only three Golden Darkness figures from To Love Ru but DHL didn't disappoint. Only took them three days from Tokyo to my desk. I may be waist deep in Bishoujo figures in no time. I just looked over my orders I had placed and I might've gotten a little nuts. Seems that my fascination with Rem from Re:Zero spurred my purchase history. Time to try sleep again. Being one of the few homes I know of with A/C, I might as well turn it on because Herself is complaining that it is too hot for her and with the thunder she needs something louder to tune it out.

I am deeply disturbed and saddened about the murder of George Floyd.

I will agree that the actions of the Minneapolis PD was disturbing, but equally disturbing is the efforts by the media to paint George Floyd as some kind of saint. The media gives two squirts about George Floyd the person and it is all about George Floyd, the symbol. How long did it take for the media (Twitter) to run pictures of the jackhole cop with the President? Now, I am no fan of Donald Trump. He is a blowhard and has all the political acumen of an ink pen, but he is no pushover and from what I gather, no racist. I know the election is a big deal below the line but creating a false narrative for political reasons by the supposed unbiased media is ridiculous. In my opinion and after listening to the vitriol directed at Drew Brees, there seems to be a lot of facsist thinking. If you are not in lockstep with those leading the protest, you need to be bullied, threatened and verbally abused into taking that viewpoint. I have zero problem with protesting, but looting and ignoring someone's rights because you disagree with their point of view is wrong in so many ways. Okay, off of my stump.

I can definitely understand your point.
