I've been asked to create the new BAM! I now hand it over to Grabby and the Brazilian (I kid cause I love!) Seriously, this is the place to talk about your non-baseball lives. I haven't posted in this in eons because, let's face it: I HAVE no non-baseball life! I barely have a baseball life! Still, a BBWC without the BAM isn't a BBWC. Have fun, folks!

Hi, everyone. Chris finally told me where all of you guys were at. We are in the Barbados today. Chris's boat is supposed to be here tonight or tomorrow morning. I am getting some sun after putting away all of my clothes and shoes I sent here. Chris is kind of mad at me. I took up all of the closet space in both bedrooms. He is going to go find some closet thing to put in the master for his clothes. Sorry, that was the only picture I could find and it was on Chris's phone. I have tons of pictures of Bayley and our pets on my new phone, but I have to get the rest of my pictures off of the cloud. I have been kind of lazy, I got a new laptop for XMas and I have not even opened it up yet. I should get on that today. Well, it is lunch time and I am hungry, so I will see you guys later.

Well, not going to lunch yet. Chris is on his computer trying to buy some anime figures. Still a kid. I have to have a talk with him. I was going through his phone and he has tons of pictures of me and some are not very nice. Me in the bathroom. Me taking a shower, me shaving my legs (ewww). me sleeping (okay, I suck my thumb when I am sleeping, kill me) some bathing suit pictures and one I really hate, a picture of me bent over in a one piece bathing suit that was cutting me in half. If he loses his phone, I will die.

I'm going to try to re-enter the BBWC circle as the past several years and work schedule has not only reduced my free time but sent me all over the globe on work assignments. MLB.com has allowed me to follow the blue from abroad over the past four years, and my hope for 2017 is that things will settle down and I'll be back in California for good. Arrived back stateside three weeks ago from South America to meet my grandson Leo (in photo) who was awarded they Kershaw jersey for Christmas.

My home since 2014 has been DC, Bogota, San Salvador and Buenos Aires (since last May). After a 2 month vacation, I'll have to return to Argentina until August, but I should be home to California again after that, (Bay Area...but I'm used to it).

I flew in to DC on December 15th and wife met me there where we loaded up the VW sitting in storage and drove it across country, as the winter storm chased us on our way west. Only got stuck in the snow once. Visited Elvis' place in Graceland and took the southern route, that wasn't much of an advantage weather wise. We decided for Christmas that we'd forgo the massive gift thing for the adult kids and instead gave out some multi-hundred dollar tips to waiters and waitresses on our trek home. I can't tell you how fun that was and I believe it will be a new Christmas tradition for us. Best Christmas ever!

Happy New Year everybody!

It boggles the mind how much more the Dodgers were linked into Hollywood during that era.

I mean, can you imagine a talking horse trying out for the Dodgers in this day and age? Probably against the CBA:

If the Dodgers had any marketing savvy, they would try to revive the team's connection to Hollywood and get some of their stars on popular TV shows.

First of all, I'd like to welcome Blue Evan back on the board. You may not remember me in the past as SamAdams and later WildHare. Both of those names came from my favorite brews (I swear I drink only one/day on average, but may have to change my moniker to Bogle Essential Red), but the new board coincided with my purchase of a new Ford F-150 Raptor, (took delivery today) so it seemed a good time to change my name and update the avatar to the color of the new Raptor. Since the Dodgers have a minor league team in Ogden, UT called the Raptors, it seemed to somehow fit.
Blue Evan, your avatar with the grandson in a Dodger Kershaw jersey is awesome.

I am up late and I saw this and remembered watching the Brady Bunch when they had a Dodger on the show. I used to watch the Brady Bunch all of the time and I think the guy was going out with Greg's math teacher. I wish I could remember his name. He must not have been very good because I remember Davy Jones from the Monkees on the show, but not this guy.

I remember Blue Evan, he is the person who asked me about Paraguay and I have never been because my dad said Paraguay is where you go if you want to die. I think I am going to wake up Chris. He is happily sleeping and I cannot. Not fair and I will fix that.

Wes Parker is the Dodger you're thinking of. Don Drysdale also was on BB.

Herself says thanks. She just asked me who in the Hell is Wes Parker, so my day is now set. I will be explaining about the greatness of Parker while we are on our flight to St. Thomas this afternoon. Funny thing, she has heard of Don Drysdale and Sandy Koufax. Wait, she is thinking of the Adam Sandler character in Big Daddy. Flight is not going to be long enough to explain both Parker and Koufax.

I just finished reading The Last Innocents, a novel on the 60s Dodgers by Michael Leahy with much of it dealing with the trials and troubles of Wes Parker. I had no idea how messed up he was mentally due to abuse issues as a child. It's a very good read. The author hones in on the lives of Wills, Parker, Tracewski, Koufax, Fairly, Torborg, etc. A lot of behind the scenes info on Bavasi's shenanigans with contracts, the Watts riots, Alston/Durocher feud and more.

Wes Parker essentially decided to become a baseball player while wandering around Paris. Boarded a flight home, arranged for his dad (season ticket holder w/connections) to set up a try-out and the next thing you know, he was playing minor league ball. Within 2 years his in the bigs and within 3 he's a World Series star.
