As we get familiar with the new place, I wanted to start a thread for anyone who is either having any issues with the forum, or perhaps there are things that you would like to suggest. Either way, feel free to comment and consider this as a sort of an ongoing support thread.

Great job, Matthew. One suggestion: Is there a way to make it more obvious when there is a new post you haven't read yet? On the Yuku board there was a circle next to the treads with a new post. Here I think the type may be a little darker on the threads with new posts but even if it is, it is such a small difference that I'm not even sure that is what I'm seeing. Ideally, it would be best if there was a clear indicator when something new was added to a thread you have been reading and once you open that thread it goes right to the first unread post.

Good question, Beef. From what I've discovered so far, there seem to be a few ways you can navigate new posts:
  1. Like Yuku, there seems to be a dot to the left of the thread to indicate when there's new posts on a thread. However, unlike Yuku, which rarely took you to the new post, it seems all you have to do is just click on the thread and it should automatically take you to the latest post ((provided you're signed in). In fact, you should see a little blue banner to the right of each new post, indicating that they're new.
  2. Another option is to click the "New Posts" tab at the top of the page, which show all the threads across the forum that have new replies.

I've received reports of people not receiving confirmation e-mails upon registering. If you're reading this and having trouble, send me a private message or contact me on the old forum if you can't post.

Using my Yahoo email account, I never received the initial confirmation email. As soon as I registered with my Gmail account, I received the confirmation email almost immediately. So either there's an issue with Yahoo email, or with MY Yahoo email :)

I've waited more than 2 days for the Yahoo one. It may eventually arrive, but the Gmail one worked so I'm good now.
Same thing with my yahoo account. Three tries since day one accomplished nothing. Using a different email account got immediate results.

Anyone still awaiting e-mail confirmation with a Yahoo! address: I bypassed the confirmation. You should be able to post. I did this for the following:

@claude osteen
@David
@dsinsocal
@EvilEuro
@lydiav
@NewportDodger
@ocmike24
@Throwdeuce

Sorry for the inconvenience. I blame @monsooner.

Mine had actually arrived and I confirmed days ago. It was to my Yahoo account.

However, I did have multiple attempts because I didn't get an email immediately. What did happen though, is that it took 7 hours for each email to arrive to me. Because I had two attempts, my second one cancelled out the first. So I had to wait for the second to arrive. Once it did, there were no issues confirming and logging in to the site.

Considering it's a dead spot in the season, the number of posts speaks volumes to how well liked this new site is. No more writing a long post and then getting asked to sign in and losing the post. No more waiting ten minutes (or days) for Yuku to establish connection. So far, it's all good.

I started a test account with my Yahoo! address. It looks like the confirmation eventually does come (not instantly), and it goes to spam. Nonetheless, going through the queue again right now, and noticed two more with confirmations pending.

@Shaft57

You're in.

I'm glad to hear that. Hopefully everything is still smooth, a couple of weeks in.
