Agreed. It seems most likely that the standings may be tightening up real soon. Good thing we went into this with a huge lead. Muncy is hitting very well all of a sudden but Taylor, Barnes, and Kike have consistently sucked all year. Bellinger and Verdugo are really in a funk. Turner is producing plenty of hits without showing power. Joc power with many other hits. Mighty tough to lose the guy who was carrying the team lately at a time so many other position players are not pulling their weight.
That’s baseball. No way were we gonna maintain what we were doing. That’s just how it goes, one way or another.

Of course Taylor is going to get Seager's at bats now. This guy has 9 lives. It's just amazing how you can have Barnes, Kike and Taylor playing starter time and none of these guys are anything more than bench players.

The Dodgers are going to feel Seager's loss. He was hitting well. This lineup is full of holes right now and we are seeing that unless this team scores a lot of runs, they struggle.

It's a particularly bad time for Seager to go down, since he was practically carrying the offense. Worse, he gets replaced by Taylor, who left men 9 men on base in an 0 for 5, typical three K night. CT3's .218 BA is right in line with Kike's .215, and Barnes' .214. Now there is an anchor for the bottom of the lineup, and with Bellinger, Joc, and 'dugo (3 hits last night notwithstanding) cooling off, runs will be too scarce for our current bullpen to protect.

I wouldn't be surprised to see the Dodgers have their lead cut in half or more. They are going up against the Cubs, and then it's all within the division until July 7th. Teams can make up a lot of ground quickly. You have to wonder if the SP's can keep up the pace of going deep into games and not get burned out.

We may have to wait until after the All-Star break to see this team dominate again. In fact, we almost certainly will have to wait unless somebody else (Cody!) gets hot again.

Zac Rosscup signed to a minor league deal and will join OKC tonight. With Cingrani and Alexander both down, he's cheap insurance.

Kevin Kennedy said Seager could be out as long as 3 months with this injury. Trying to get by with Taylor in the lineup to go along with Kike and Barnes really is going to be hard to compensate for.

When do the whispers of Seager being injury prone start?

It’s ok. The Dodgers can just trade for Machad-Oh

Don't think he's injury prone.

He's coming off two major surgeries (TJS & Hip ), missing most of 2018 and has been ridden by Roberts and the rest of the boys in blue.

He's played in 65 of the first 68 games, with almost 90% of the innings at SS this year.

What happened to easing him back in?

I think a trade with Cincinnati would look great...castellanos coming to LA would be a huge fit. He has good numbers and after seager come back I'd like to see castellanos at 2nd

Castellanos is with Detroit and was awful at 3B and has become just passable in RF, though he works hard at it.

Wouldn't work at 2B.

You're probably thinking of Iglesias.

If Seager is really going to be out 2-3 months, Hernandez / Taylor can handle SS and either Muncy can play 1B with the Dodgers acquiring a 2B, or Muncy can play 2B and they acquire a 1B.

With the Dodgers' positional flexibility, they can go in many different directions.

Thank you for correcting me, I was typing it on a rush, and yes I meant Iglesias not castellanos

Now that North Carolina and Stanford have been eliminated, we should start hearing about the Dodgers in talks
with 1st Round Pick (#31) Michael Busch, 5th Round Pick (#161) Jack Little, and 17th Round Pick (#571) Brandon Wulff.

The only Dodgers draft pick still in the D1 Playoffs is 20th Round Pick (#611) Zack Plunkett with Arkansas.

He's 25 years old, already coming off two major surgeries and can't be expected to play 90% of the team's games without getting hurt again...

Until further notice, he's injury prone.

From Gurnick:

"The Dodgers placed shortstop Corey Seager on the 10-day injured list on Thursday and activated utilityman Matt Beaty from the injured list to replace him. Seager suffered a left hamstring strain trying to score from second base Tuesday night in Anaheim. It was initially thought he had suffered a Grade 2 strain, which usually requires four to six weeks to fully heal. But the club said that an MRI on Wednesday revealed a strain “between Grade 1 and Grade 2,” less severe than Tuesday night’s initial exam indicated. The Dodgers have not placed a timetable on his return."
