Alex Wood has been a trainwreck in the BP. He was vocally angry that he was being taken out of the rotation. His attitude & body language was awful when he was called on & most outings were very brief because he sucked. The obvious plan should have been no postseason for him.

I kind of picture Roberts standing in the Red Sox dugout next to Cora in his Dodger jacket leading cheers for the Sox.
I'm surprised Roberts turned down the offer he got to throw out the first ball. I guess he'd rather lead the crowd in singing Sweet Caroline after the game.

Wood has been a detriment to the team this year and should never have been on the postseason roster but that’s water under the bridge now. Must be hard to look at your team that has scratched all game long and apologize for castrating them with one pitch to a guy who isn’t even any good.

Roberts never misses a chance to go L/R. Hey, it's easier to justify, then chalk it up to "not his day" when it doesn't work.

He is terrible as a reliever and a #5 or #6 starter. No way he should be on any good team.

I have my finger on the button to shut off the game the second the last out is made so I don't have to listen to these assholes for one additional moment.

All year Joc has been pulled for defense in close games late, but in the most important game of the year, Roberts goes against the right move & puts him into a close game late to fuck up. You either start Joc in the OF early or just use him to pinch late. Moron.

This seems to be his MO. He takes no responsibility for any of his bad moves. He just continues to use that "not his day" line. I know he won't throw a player under the bus, I would love to see him throw himself under something.

Geez, I expected Boston fans to be better than this. That Beat LA chant is a fucking joke from the cretins who cheer for the Celtics and dream of the days of Havlichek and Sam Jones.

I'm shocked that chant started so late.

Need to shake it off and get after Price tomorrow but this was a lost opportunity when Sale is off. This one sits squarely on the stupid manager.

He just needs to be gone. His one saving grace was that he was an above average outfielder, defensively, but he is now a trainwreck with the glove and unless he is going yard, he is not a first division hitter. Time for us to move him while he still has some value. I have the same feeling for him that I have for Puig, neither are cost effective anymore and while I would not be shocked if we trade both and they both have a breakout year, I know they will never have that season in LA. Time for Verdugo to get a real look and losing Pederson gives one less crutch for Roberts to lean on.

The people who use data correctly are the ones who use it to make their theories fit reality. The ones who are simplistic, intellectually lazy, and operate like a robot are those who try to fit reality into their theories. Dave Roberts is the latter. There is little context, understanding of the situation... or there is, but it's forsaken for the pursuit of theory. I've never seen a manager so dogmatic. He literally is Michael Scott trusting the GPS, despite it meaning he drives into a lake.

Finally, fuck Clayton Kershaw and the utter fraud he's been for the past 10 years. I'd thank him for the great years, but he managed to fuck those up too by October. In the pantheon of great Dodger pitchers, forget comparing him to Koufax. He's not even Hershiser. Don't let the door hit you in the ass, Clayton.

Of course rather than remove the crutch they could ans should remove the one using it.

If only...
I'd bet on them extending him as more likely than letting him go. Sure hope that isn't the case but I really expect him to be a Dodger next year.

When the Dodger signed Kershaw for $210m million for 7 years (with the opt out ion the 5th year) Kasten also offered him $300 million for a lifetime contract. I wouldn't be shocked to see them fill that out now.
