Nice to sweep any team, even if they are the worst in the NL. Starting pitching was really strong with our big three, Ryu, Kershaw, and Buehler. Last night put a punctuation mark (!) on our need for bullpen help and Barnes dropped under the Mendoza line.

Good move to give Bellinger a day off along with Verdugo.

I remember after spring training there were a lot of concerns about Lux' defense, particularly his throwing. His improved status now is definitely a good thing, because he would bring more value than previously expected and the Dodgers have a better feel for what he brings.

Rick Armstrong, son of first man on the moon astronaut, Neil Armstrong, is being interviewed by the Astros television broadcast crew. He grew up in Cincinnati and is a life long DODGER FAN! Of course, the Astros telecasters had to bring up the 2017 World Series, but he handled it well. Very interesting interview as he talked about what it was like being a twelve year old kid and having your father walk on the moon.

Dodgers Outright Rocky Gale
By Steve Adams | July 23, 2019 at 7:51pm CDT

The Dodgers have outrighted catcher Rocky Gale off the 40-man roster, Ken Gurnick of MLB.com tweets. The move drops the club’s 40-man roster to a total of 38 players.
Gale, 31, went 2-for-15 in a brief stint with the Dodgers earlier this season but has spent the bulk of the season in Triple-A Oklahoma City, where he’s batted .250/.303/.370 in 109 plate appearances. He’s spent the season as the primary backup to top catching prospect Will Smith in Triple-A, but the recent promotion of fellow top catching prospect Keibert Ruiz to Oklahoma City has further reduced Gale’s role on the roster.
Gale has appeared in 22 big league games between the Padres and Dodgers, though he’s received just 37 plate appearances in that time (and hit .108/.108/.189). The former ninth-round pick is a lifetime .277/.315/.359 in parts of nine Triple-A seasons.

Add a grand slam by Reks. Now 13-0 with May having pitched 5 shutout innings.
The amount of MiLB talent to complement all the talent at the MLB level is staggering really. AF could use Ruiz or May or Lux (I know the latter two are 0 chance) to get a high level piece and not skip a beat.

May ended up pitching 4 scoreless innings with three hits and one walk. I heard some analysts on the MLB channel predicting he will be the number two starter for the Dodgers next year. They said is spin rate is off the charts.

We have some fantastic talent. What is even crazier is San Diego. Their top 10 prospects are all in the Top 100. That franchise is going to be good at some point.
